When positive thoughts Run through your head Don't do nothing By lying in your bed Get up and have coffee Write down your ideas It will help you overcome Your worries and fears If things are difficult And times are bad Just pick yourself up Don't ever feel sad There is always help To get what you need Its a phone call away For you to succeed Life is no rehearsal You only get one chance Where you live is up to you England, Spain or France I'm always here for you To offer my friendly advise Just remember be yourself And don't forget to be nice Paul Connelly 23/06/2020

To all the fathers Old and new I've wrote this poem Just for you The love for your children Is second to none You miss them all dearly When they have gone The house seems empty No tiny little feet They have all grown up And left our street We celebrate this day Only once a year It brings us all together For lots of fun and beer A nice family meal at home It's Great we all can meet Lots of smiles and laughter Is a very special treat HAPPY FATHERS DAY ONE AND ALL... My first academic school year Was back in 1973 I walked with my father that day Was not much taller than his knee When entering the school I started to cry My father had left me I didn't know why My teacher was very tall His eyes were scary and dark I wanted to go home To play with friends on the park My early days in school Was emotional I know I needed to adapt quick My father made me go So on to high school I went It's here I noticed the girls Lots of smiling faces around And some with one or two curls I enjoyed sport in high school I pushed and did my best Running was my favourite I always beat the rest So graduation day has arrived There was lots of laughter and tears We have all moved on now To enjoy the later years

There is a terrible disease, Tearing families apart, Destroying our lives, Without any heart, Some lucky ones live, But most of them die, Joining the others, In the big blue sky, It picks on the young, And even the old, There is no cure, So I've been told, We must be strong, And look after each other, But life will be tough, Without our mother, The fight for a cure, Must always remain, Because if we give up, It will drive us insane, NEVER GIVE UP !!!! As I wake up this morning My thoughts are about mum Knowing she is all alone It can't be much fun She lives in Bonnie Scotland In a quiet little place We talk quite often But i never see her face When people visit her There is lots of food and wine Talking about the good old days And having a real good time Then the time comes To make the long journey home Four hours on the motorway With the future unknown We pack up the car And say goodbye Every time we leave She has a tear in her eye Its a very long journey We live 250 miles apart, But she is my mother, And is always in my heart,

Black or white Is never the case I offer you all A warm embrace Black or white Rich or poor You're always welcome At my door Black or white Short or tall I don't believe In a dividing wall Black or white It's just one race It matters not The colour of your face Black or white No need for a war We are all equal But breaking the law Black or white Friend or foe Love each other Let everybody know Black or white We bleed the same blood No need to fight In our neighborhood Black or white We breath the same air We all live together Lets try to be fair Black or white We don't need antimatter Look after each other Because all lives matter

mental health, can drive you mad, It controls your life, and makes you sad, some people cope, for many years ahead, other people suffer, and lie in their bed, Its a thing of power, within your mind, sometimes evil, other times kind, pressure and stress, Is not good at all, It does not help, It will make you fall, when you feel stress, listen to a song, believe me,it works, It wont take long, we must talk to each other, It helps us to chill, or before you know it, we will be over the hill,

There are days in our lives, When everything seems wrong, You get very confused, Then listen to a song It takes you back in time, To when you was free, Enjoying every weekend, That was you and me, We all loved our youth, Happy days of the past, Growing up was great, Its a Pity it never lasts, When you have your children, It makes you who you are, A kind and loving parent, Who is their superstar, Looking forward now, To the latter years of life, All the children are grown up, So its just me and the wife, Lots of grandchildren, To keep me busy, By the end of each week, My head feels dizzy, We are who we are, All we can do is our best, Look after our own, And forget about the rest,

As we all pull together, With testing times ahead, Don't forget the elderly, While lying in your bed, Buy an extra loaf or two, And give it to the old, It would mean so much to them, Even more than gold , Stay in touch with family, Its good for mental health, Regardless of your bank account, Its not about your wealth, Take care of each other, And always be kind, don't let this pandemic, Play with your mind,

When your feelings are right And you are never apart Never hold back Just speak from your heart The love that you have Will always be true How it turns out Depends entirely on you When things are worth the wait And emotions are running high Don't ever be foolish Or the chance will pass you by Time and tide waits for no man For this is so very true How your love and life goes Is completely down to you Paul Connelly 09/06/2020

We all need to chill Just take a step back Listen to your elders Stroke your little black cat This world we live in Can be evil and kind Don't let it beat you And play with your mind We can all help the cause In one way or another Just remember to be kind Always respect your mother We all try to live The best life we can But drugs and alcohol Takes away the man Hunger and famine In this day and age What's this all about Lets turn the page Greed and money Makes some people tick I love to help The homeless and the sick When all else fails you must be strong Love each other And never do wrong Paul Connelly 02/06/2020

As the days unfold With no end in sight We must help each other And continue to fight We are working blind To beat this disease Many people worldwide Are down on there knees We all miss our Families All we can do is phone We wait for the moment They can all come home This invisible killer Has plenty of scope The one thing we do have Is lots of British hope

As the days pass by In this lock-down hell I know we all have Our stories to tell We talk through windows Or with our phone Its just not the same As talking at home We long for a cuddle From people who care Its just so hard They can't be there Each day goes by They all feel the same I miss the football The beautiful game I hope all my friends Stay safe and near Cos when this is over We will drink lots of beer Paul Andrew Connelly 10/05/2020
